Teenagers are constantly advised toward one extreme after another. Their parents and teachers likely push them toward maturity and responsibility. Friends usually suggest conformity to peers and pursuing that which will bring the most immediate pleasure. The image portrayed by many musicians, actors, and athletes glorifies sex and drugs and untamed selfishness. With all of these conflicting views, how does a Christian teenager decide how to live?

Through powerful biblical teaching and real-life stories, Decisions will call students to abandon the idea that choices made in youth are temporary and meaningless, and instead, to make decisions now that will impact both their lives and God's Kingdom for eternity. Take a look at this video overview of the series.

In these these four powerful sessions, Eric Mason encourages students how to make decisions out of a worldview shaped by God’s Word and centered around our Savior, Jesus. Eric is the co-founder and Lead Pastor of Epiphany Fellowship in Philadelphia. He is known for articulating and proclaiming the gospel with clarity, passion and authority at churches and conferences nationally.

Listen to his encouragement and perspective on the ability of our students to live out their faith today. Eric was in youth ministry for a number of years so he knows what you are going through with your students!

Proverbs 22:6 (ESV)

6Train up a child in the way he should go;

even when he is old he will not depart from it.

Eric mentioned that we tend think that verse from Proverbs means that Christian youth are not able to follow the Lord in maturity and we are teaching them "for the future." He encouraged youth leaders to get their student "off the milk." How do you teach theology to your students? Are you expecting them to be complete in Christ today, or do you think it is more of an investment in the future? Why or why not?

Eric also reminded us that the youth leaders are not the sole source of discipleship for students. How do you/will you partner with the parents of to keep them informed and help in the discipleship of their teenagers?

At the beginning of each session, your students will experience dramatic or funny illustrations to ease into the topic. This reflective clip illustrates how little decisions can have big consequences, but one decision is the most important of all.

You'll also hear from a variety of students who share how difficult circumstances influenced their decisions and relationships. In this real-life story from the series, Christian talks about how the death of his father affected his life and relationship with God.

Who do you know who is going through a difficult time? Who is questioning God's presence in their life? What kind of decisions are your students making as a result? Who has not yet made the decision to follow Christ? Who can you reach out to them as you start this Bible Study?
