Just 3 Questions About Leadership with Uli Chi

Who is the best leader you have ever sat under and why were they so good?

Uli Chi lives and works at the intersection of business, academics, and the church. He is currently Founder and Chair of Computer Human Interaction, a software company that develops 3-D, virtual reality software that simplifies complex decision making for consumers and businesses. Uli holds a doctorate in computer science from the University of Washington. He is Vice Chair of the Board of the Max De Pree Center for Leadership at Fuller Seminary in Pasadena and Chair of the Executive Committee of the Center for Integrity in Business at Seattle Pacific University.

In this first video, Uli answers, “Who is the best leader you have ever sat under and why were they so good?”

Uli admired three different men for specific qualities. First, he talked about a Marine Corp colonel who was not a Christian but led well and held his power lightly. Next, Uli mentioned Max De Pree, author of Leadership is an Art, who has the ability to ask questions without the agenda of guiding an answer. And he talked about his pastor who invited him into a prayer group as a new believer, where he had the chance to see the lives of mature Christians and learn the power of prayer.

What specifically do you admire in the lives of those you have made an impact on you? How have you applied those qualities in your life?

What is the most important thing you do to develop your faith on a daily basis?

In this bonus clip, Uli answers the question, "What is the most important thing you do to strengthen your Christian faith on a daily basis?"

Uli has found that praying the psalms is a wonderful resource. That discipline has taught him to realize that all of life is pray-able. He doesn't have to posture or pose before God, but can come to God just as he is.

Take some time to find a psalm that is suitable for your situation today and pray through it as your own words. How does it mirror your emotions? How does it encourage you?
