Working with youth involves significant sacrifice. It is hard, and at times, stressful work. Richard Ross, Professor at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with 40 years experience ministering to teens, gives encouragement to volunteers in youth ministry, expressing the importance of their work in God's Kingdom.

While being a volunteer in youth ministry is fun, it is also hard work. It brings a level of stress to your life that would not be there otherwise. However, the work you do for God's Kingdom through volunteering with teens is invaluable. You are making an incredible impact in the lives of young people and bringing glory and honor to the King.
