How are You Living Your One Life?

God has a purpose for us on this earth. That calling is to be on mission for God wherever he has planted us. And how we live out our faith in and through work is an important part of our complete life in Christ. Take a look at this reflective illustration.

We are challenged to use our gifts, talents and skills to glorify God where he has planted us. What will that look like in your life?

In this video clip, Don Barefoot, President of C12, talks abut the importance of being diligent in what we do with what we've been given. C12 is a Christian leadership development organization that helps people use their position as a Christian Business Owner, CEO, or President to share the joy of serving Christ daily.

Read Matthew 25:14–30 (The Parable of the Talents). What have you been given in life? What talents, abilities, benefits, connections, time, resources, or other opportunities do you have? How are you using these gifts to glorify God? Is there anything that needs to change?

Don referenced Eph. 2:10 to remind us that we are God's workmanship. We are created to reflect Christ to others. In this next video clip, Don talks about how trustworthy, grace-filled Christians can reflect Christ and serve those who are hurting.

Don gave one example of how a simple offer to a hurting family of an employee who died multiplied into many others coming into faith in Christ. What can you do to come alongside those in need in your workplace?

In the context of work, we can worship God in a variety of ways: through obeying God’s command to steward His creation; through our attitude, ethics and excellence in our job; through leveraging resources to generously serve those in need; through sharing our faith with co-workers. All of our “work as worship” is for the purpose of glorifying God and sharing Jesus in word and deed with those that don’t know him.

Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
~Hebrews 13:20–21 (NIV)
