After learning that there are 27 million slaves in the world today, Christine Caine and her husband Nick began The A21 Campaign with the mission to abolish injustice in the 21st century. Christ's church has a great responsibility to be on the forefront of this fight against the darkness of slavery.



"It's easy to ignore suffering when it's nameless and faceless." For most of us, slavery feels like an antiquated problem or a third world issue that never touches us, but Christine has shone a light on it that we can't ignore. Prayerfully consider your answers to the following questions and what Jesus might be asking you to do in this fight.

Christine said, "compassion is never compassion until you go across the street and do something." Read Luke 10:25–37. Do you identify most with the priest and Levite or the Samaritan? Why is that your answer?

One thing that Christine ended with is this rhetorical question: what is more important than people? It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Safety, comfort, and security is not the goal of Christianity. Freedom is. Do not worry about your comfort and security, but trust God enough to have the courage to shine your light into the darkness.
