In this training post, Fred Luter, Senior Pastor of New Orleans' Franklin Avenue Baptist Church and President of the Southern Baptist Convention speaks to fellow pastors about the importance of their daily time with the Lord. Christian leaders will sometimes neglect their quiet time because they are always “about the business of the church.” Pastor Luter cautions against this attitude in the following video.



Read Matthew 14:22–23. Jesus is our great example for finding quiet time with the Father. He is the only one able to say that He had “arrived” spiritually, and he did not neglect time alone in prayer.


Do you neglect your personal walk for the sake of ministry to others? What justification do you make when you are not personally spending time with the Lord? What can you change in your schedule and priorities to improve in this area?
