The Loving Presence of God

IF:Gathering 2017

In this session from the 2017 IF:Gathering, Britt and Kate Merrick team up to remind us that making disciples starts and ends with the loving presence of God. When we experience God’s loving presence, we can’t help but take it to others.

Britt Merrick is the Founding Pastor of Reality, a family of churches with locations in Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Stockton, Boston, and London. Britt continues to pastor full time in Carpinteria. He is the author of Big God

Kate Merrick is a writer, speaker, pastor’s wife, and mother of a teen and a toddler. She and her husband Britt live in Carpinteria, California, where they founded the Reality family of churches. In 2013, she endured the death of her daughter, Daisy Love, who suffered through cancer treatment for three and a half years. Kate tells their story of suffering in her book, And Still She Laughs.

Which of Britt and Kate's points did you find most impactful? Why?

Being with Jesus precedes being sent by Him. Intimacy precedes ministry. We must seek God’s loving presence first and foremost.
