Be a Groundbreaker

Dare to Do The Impossible

Leadership involves taking risk. Sometimes you have to try something no one has ever done before in order to advance your company. For Bryant Ambelang, President and CEO of NatureSweet, being a groundbreaker—and encouraging your employees to be groundbreakers—is key to growth in a company.

Bryant is the President and CEO of NatureSweet, Ltd., the largest greenhouse producer of tomatoes in North America. Currently, NatureSweet operates seven facilities—six in Mexico and one in the U.S.—and pursues its mission of "unleashing the power of people" through a vertically integrated production model that offers full-time direct employment to over 8,000 associates.

Bryant defined groundbreaking as doing something no one has ever done before. At NatureSweet, he encourages employees to be groundbreakers each day in their jobs. He challenges them with the question, “How do you show up groundbreaking everyday?”

In what ways does your role in your organization require you to be groundbreaking? How do you show up groundbreaking everyday?
