Can We Enjoy Heaven Knowing of Loved Ones in Hell?

2010 Ligonier Conference

Dr. R.C. Sproul, Founder and Chairman of Ligonier Ministries, addresses the difficult question, “How can I be happy in heaven when I know a loved one is suffering in hell?” In this 45-minute session, Sproul points us to the character of God and our future glorification. In a redeemed existence where sin has been removed, we will have eyes to see holiness and unholiness for what it is.

Which of R.C.’s points did you find most impactful? Why?

As R.C. Sproul put it, “Until our glorification, our concerns and sympathies rest much more with wicked human beings than they do with the glory of God. When sin is removed from our lives, and we reach the place of loving the Lord with all our heart and soul in undiluted affection, we will be much more concerned for the vindication of God’s holiness.”
