God wants to be at the bottom of our joy, the foundation that gives life to us and causes us to bear fruit in service to Him. As John said, God demonstrates His love for us by not making us the point, but by making Himself the end goal. Spend some time reflecting on your spiritual life. Ask God to lead you to repentance in the areas where you have allowed something other than Him to become the priority in your life.
