Transcendent Gospel

A Foundation for Counseling

Alone. Separated. Before Christ, we stood against Goad and against each other. Now, through Christ, we can enjoy union with God and His children. Charles Ware speaks about his passion for the gospel and its unifying power. He advocates for a biblical basis for counseling that centers on the Christ’s death and resurrection.

Charles Ware is President of Crossroads Bible College, a conservative evangelical institution dedicated to training Christian leaders to reach a multiethnic urban world for Christ. He is on the Board for the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism, the Association for Biblical Higher Education, Anchors Away, and The Biblical Counseling Coalition.

The gospel cuts beneath layers of racial tensions and cultural tensions. Jesus unites us into one family. Now, we are brothers and sisters who work together to glorify God and spread the Good News. We can use the gospel as the foundation of biblical counsel.

The truth of the gospel fuels Christians in all areas of life, even in counseling. As you counsel others this week—whether professionally or not—focus on ways you could use elements of the gospel story in your approach. Remind others of the hope we have in Jesus and the unity He provides through the Church.
