Too often, leaders blame things like low productivity, poor attitudes, and lack of precision on the work ethic of their people. Sometimes, these are simply the result of staff members being placed in the wrong spots. As Doug shared, the goal is to increase the overlap between a person's unique skills and the requirements of their job. Look for ways to implement this among your own staff. Be willing to ask whether or not you have them in their sweet spots and commit to helping them in the process.
