Stand Firm

In the previous section, Don, Tim, and John discussed how Christians should interact with the culture. In this section, they consider the question, “Are Christians on the wrong side of history?” They explain how they respond when people ask that question and offer theological insight into Christians’ response to historical trends.

Don pointed out the assumption of the question, “Are Christians on the wrong side of history?” implies there’s a progression in history toward a certain stance and you don’t want to be on the losing side of that stance. However, many positions throughout history were popular at the time, but, looking back, they ended up being wrong. He said Christians should instead strive to be on Jesus’ side of history.
