The Nines Conference 2014

Historically, there have been times when the church has preached poorly on the issue of sexuality, but this should not discourage pastors from striving to address it today. In this 4-minute session from The Nines Conference 2014, Joby Martin, Lead Pastor of The Church of Eleven22 in Jacksonville, Florida, shares some of the ways he has worked to communicate the better way of Christ to his congregation.

As Joby said, lost people act lost. When you are the lord of your life, you will do whatever you want with it. The job of the church is not to control people's lives, but to help unbelievers see the better way of Jesus Christ. In your conversations with those who are engaging in broken forms of sexuality, work at communicating God's broader plan for intimacy as a way of addressing sex. Help them see the freedom that comes with having Jesus as the Lord of your life.
