We cannot expect purity from those around us prior to accepting them into our communities.  As Chris shared, the church has a history of reacting with impulse rather than responding in terms of grace. Look for opportunities to serve sinners around you, specifically those who belong to the gay community. Ground yourself on the truth of God's Word and remember that it is His kindness that leads us all into repentance (Rom. 2:4).
