Try, Fail, Learn, Adjust

Leadership Network 2014 Innovations Conference

In this 11-minute session, Craig Groeschel, founder and Senior Pastor of Life.Church based in Edmond, Oklahoma, observes the difference between leaders who buy into the fear of failure and leaders who are willing to embrace failure. Craig shows us how failure can help us grow and excel as a leader.

In this 4-minute follow up interview from 2014, Craig talks about failures he experienced since 2009 and encourages leaders to continue to try, fail, learn, and adjust.

Which of the Craig’s points in the first talk did you find most impactful? Why? What stood out to you about his follow up video? Why?

Whether you’re a leader or a follower, you will encounter failure. You have the choice to welcome failure and learn from your mistakes or to let the fear of failure cripple you from action. From the example of the three servants in the Parable of the Talents, we can see how fearing failure can deprive us of the return and reward we can get when we take risks.
