Maintain Focus on Your God

Focus takes Focus

Focus takes effort and preparation. With everything that pings, bleeps, and buzzes during the workday, it can be difficult to remain focused on the important matters of the day. In the following video from the WorkMatters FUSE Forum, Donnie Smith, the President and CEO of Tyson Foods Inc., walks through his routine for maintaining godly focus.

Donnie has a very meticulous method for preparing for his day. He prays through using the acronym “ACTS”:

  • Adoration
  • Confession
  • Thanksgiving
  • Supplication

Each step focuses on a different aspect our relationship with God, and brings the whole of our life into alignment with Him.

Do you have time set aside before you begin your work to pray and focus on the right things? If so, how do you pray? If not, why not?

Focus takes work. It doesn’t come easy and it’s not natural. We have to put in the effort to keep our eyes locked on God and His desires for our lives. Throughout your work week, take the time to focus. Keep God in the proper place in your workday.
