Make Your Company Faith-Friendly

Free to Be a Whole Person

Faith is an important part of life for many people. In this post from the course, Equip Your Team to Win, Donnie Smith, the President and CEO of Tyson Foods Inc., explains why he works to create a faith-friendly environment at Tyson. When people know that they can be their whole selves—they don’t have to leave their faith at home—they can thrive as employees. This video was produced in partnership with WorkMatters.

Donnie is a Christian. The faith-friendly environment of Tyson Foods allows him to practice his faith in every area of his life. But Donnie doesn’t limit the faith-friendliness of the company to Christianity only. He values diversity, and he values the work that people can do when they know they can bring their “whole selves” to the job.

A company's culture that allows employees to live their whole lives at work allows employees to grow both personally and professionally.  Nothing holds them back from giving their all. As employees grow, so does the business or organization. That growth benefits everyone—even the leaders. As a leader in your own company, make the work environment faith-friendly. Care for your people, and watch them thrive.
