Word-Centered Worship

2014 Doxology and Theology Conference

In this 41-minute session from the 2014 Doxology and Theology Conference, Matt Boswell walks though verses in Psalm 119 to encourage worship that flows from the Word of God. Matt is the founder of the Doxology and Theology Conference and the Pastor of Ministries & Worship at Providence Church in Frisco, Texas.

Matt said that Psalm 119 teaches us three things about the life and labor of the worship leader:
  1. Think rightly about the Word. (vv. 9–16)
  2. Feel deeply about the Word. (vv. 129–136)
  3. Joyfully obey the Word. (vv. 25–32)

How do you think rightly about the Word of God? In what ways do you delight in and submit to the Scriptures?

Blessed are you, O Lord;
    teach me your statutes!
With my lips I declare
    all the rules of your mouth.
In the way of your testimonies I delight
    as much as in all riches.
I will meditate on your precepts
    and fix my eyes on your ways.
I will delight in your statutes;
    I will not forget your word.
~ Psalm 119:12–16 ESV
