How Can a Good God Allow Suffering?

The Gospel Coalition 2010 Los Angeles Regional Conference

In this 95-minute session, Don Carson, world-renowned New Testament scholar and author, and Research Professor at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, looks at the narrative of Job to deal with the question of suffering in the world. Don is the author of over fifty books, including The Gagging of God and An Introduction to the New Testament.

In the end, not only will God accomplish justice for His people, but we will also see it play out before our very eyes. We may suffer now, and that suffering may seem pointless and frustrating. But the hope we have is the return of Jesus and the justice that He will accomplish on our behalf. In the midst of your suffering, or the suffering of those you love, keep your eyes focused on the God who will one day vindicate you for your faithfulness to Him.
