Christian had a great relationship with his dad—a relationship that felt more like best friends than father and son. But a battle with severe depression and chronic back pain plagued Christian’s dad. One day, Christian got an urgent call from his sister—his dad had committed suicide. Christian was crushed that his dad would do that to his family, and that God would allow this happen. After loving counsel from his youth pastor and wise words from Scripture, Christian saw that it was God he needed to run to, not from. He now sees that difficult season and is thankful for the growth God has done in his life through it. Now, Christian takes the opportunity to point others who face significant struggles to the hope they can find in God. This story can also be found in Decisions featuring Eric Mason.
