David Helm is the Executive Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Charles Simeon Trust, an organization dedicated the sound preaching of God's Word. He also serves as pastor of the Hyde Park congregation of Holy Trinity Church in Chicago. David held the post of Senior Pastor of Holy Trinity Church from its founding in 1998 until 2008, when Jon Dennis assumed the role.
A graduate of Wheaton College, where he earned a BA in Communications, and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, where he earned an MDiv, David is ordained in the PCA and serves on the council of The Gospel Coalition. For Crossway Books, He authored 1 & 2 Peter and Jude in their Preaching the Word series, authored The Big Picture Story Bible, contributed to Preach the Word: Essays on Expository Preaching in Honor of Kent Hughes, and co-authored The Genesis Factor. He also authored One-to-One Bible Reading: A Simple Guide for Every Christian for Matthias Media and the 9Marks volume Expositional Preaching.
David has served as Executive Director of the Charles Simeon Trust since its founding in 2001 and succeeded Kent Hughes as Chairman of the Board of Directors in 2008. He is responsible for all the work and initiatives of the Charles Simeon Trust. He teaches in the training program, leads several Workshops per year, writes training materials, raises funds, and supervises the Director of Ministries. David is married to Lisa, and they have five children.
