David Blakeslee is a professional studio potter and inspirational speaker. He is the author of In the Hands of the Potter, where he reflects on making pottery as a metaphor for how the Master Potter forms and transforms lives. Originally from Connecticut, David studied at Earlham College in Indiana and completed a degree in Ceramic Art and Design at Alfred University in New York. In 1987, he relocated to Salida and set up a pottery studio along the banks of the Arkansas River. David also served for over 21 years as the Lead Pastor of the Salida Vineyard Church. Retiring from that position, he continues to serve in leadership roles in the Vineyard movement. David currently travels the country, sharing a visual presentation called The Potter's Talk.
