Cheryl Broetje is co-founder of Broetje Orchards, one of the largest privately owned apple orchards in the United States with more than 6,000 acres of apples and cherries and over 1,000 permanent employees.
Cheryl and her husband dreamed of using their orchard profits to serve children and families in India, but soon saw the needs of their own employees who were Latino immigrants. Their orchard became their mission field. They created permanent jobs, affordable housing, an elementary school, a daycare facility, and leadership opportunities to invest in the future of their employees and bear fruit that lasts. Today, Broetje Orchards is a learning lab for people interested in exploring a more holistic model for corporate social responsibility.
