God is sovereign. He is the Creator. He governs. He rules. He works. The purpose behind all of this creating and governing and leading is that God might display His infinite perfections to creation and that He might be obeyed, enjoyed and worshiped.

The kingdom of God started long ago, and it continues today, and it will continue tomorrow and on into the future. Though we can’t see it in full, we are caught up in the story. Today, we live as both citizens and strangers, hoping and praying for the kingdom to come. We live in the “already but not yet,” prisoners of hope in this shadow kingdom, all while knowing it is not our true home. Something better is coming. God’s perfect kingdom is coming.

Many people are familiar with Psalm 23. But because we all know it, we often breeze through the psalm without slowing down long enough to rest in the assurance it offers. In this 6-part series on Psalm 23, pastor Matt Chandler introduces us to the great shepherd, the Lord, who promises to provide for every need of his flock. Though only six verses long, this psalm teaches us profound truths about our loving and protective God. By studying Psalm 23, we’ll encounter a life-transforming question: Do you trust the Lord to care for your needs?

Regardless of ethnicity, gender, country of origin, upbringing, or socio-economic status we all have one feature in common—we are made in the image of God. Despite our differences, we are living in the story of God’s redemptive work, which tears down the barriers that divide us. Following Christ means becoming a member of his household, one in which we will spend eternity.

Until then, an unbelieving world is watching. But what does it see? As we work to reconcile our differences, let us redirect our gaze where it belongs—on our Savior, Jesus Christ. When we do, we will truly grow into the people God designed us to become.

Racial unity is a gospel issue and all the more urgent 50 years after Martin Luther King Jr.'s death. Join the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission and The Gospel Coalition at a special event, "MLK50: Gospel Reflections from the Mountaintop," which took place April 3-4, 2018 in Memphis, TN. Key speakers included Matt Chandler, Jackie Hill Perry, Eric Mason, Russell Moore, John Piper, Benjamin Watson, and many others.

The 50th anniversary of King's tragic death marks an opportunity for Christians to reflect on the state of racial unity in the church and the culture. It creates the occasion to reflect on where Christians have been and look ahead to where we must go as we pursue racial unity in the midst of tremendous tension.

Even the most mature believers face dark nights of the soul. During those times God seems distant, his Word feels dry, and the vibrant intimacy we knew before seems absent leaving us wondering, “Where is the Lord in this?” In Psalm 119, Matt Chandler aims to introduce viewers to the words of King David who experienced similar seasons of life. Serving as the anchor for the study, Psalm 119 demonstrates the power of God’s Word in the lives of believers and its ability to provide a warm blanket for the soul.

Matt Chandler and The Hub have partnered together to write, film, and produce a brand new, updated curriculum of The Mingling of Souls- a study of love, dating, marriage, intimacy, and redemption based on Song of Solomon! All new from the ground up, your group will be able to enjoy this new video series and study guide in conjunction with Matt Chandler's new book The Mingling of Souls: God's Design for Love, Marriage, Sex & Redemption. In a culture where the foundations of attraction, love, marriage, and sex are rapidly eroding, Matt Chandler offers and eternal, counter-intuitive perspective from the biblical book Song of Solomon. Scripture says we're to nurture our hearts above all else- yet we are inundated with songs, movies, and advice that contradicts and cheapens God's design for love and intimacy.

Answering tough questions about God and Christianity

Why does God allow suffering and tragedy? Does science disprove Christianity? Is Jesus really the only way? Why are Christians so hypocritical? Christians throughout the ages have wrestled with questions like these, and chances are, so do you. Having faith isn't always easy. You may not always have the “winning” answer that makes you popular. Sometimes believing the Bible might make you feel like everyone's against you. But it's critical that you don't run from these types of questions.

In these four challenging sessions, students share real-life stories about their own struggles in coming to terms with what Scripture teaches about God, sin, creation and Jesus.

Matt Chandler provides powerful teaching from Scripture and helps teens understand why believing in God and the Bible is not only reasonable, but also essential. And that's what apologetics is all about. Knowing what you believe and why you believe it, and then being able to share with others why you think your beliefs are reasonable.

Matt Chandler Bio: Matt serves as Lead Pastor of Teaching at The Village Church in the Dallas Fort Worth area. Since he began in December 2002, the church has witnessed a tremendous response growing from 160 people to over 11,000 on four campuses.

Matt is also the president of Acts 29, a worldwide church-planting organization, and is involved in church planting efforts both locally and internationally. Matt speaks at conferences throughout the world and has authored two books, The Explicit Gospel and Creature of the Word.

His greatest joy outside of Jesus is being married to Lauren and being a dad to their three children, Audrey, Reid and Norah.

Learn to Confidently Teach Your Kids About God

Who is shaping what your kids believe?

In these busy, hectic days we take our kids to sports practices, games, music lessons, school tutoring and other activities to give our children the best opportunities for success. But what if we're missing the chance to teach them what matters most?

Our children can grow up smart, athletic, popular and polite but lack a vibrant relationship with Christ. The few hours they spend in church each week can be helpful, but it cannot nurture a faith in our kids that will withstand the trials that are on the horizon. Church alone cannot teach them, we must start at home. But many parents feel ill equipped to develop the faith of their children.

In these six sessions, we will explore biblical and tangible ways that parents—couples, single parents, blended families and grandparents—can build a legacy of faith for their children.

Each Bible study session includes interviews with everyday parents talking about their own doubts, fears and desires. Gary Thomas, Matt Chandler, and Kurt and Olivia Bruner provide powerful teaching that will help you give your kids what they need to build a solid framework for lifelong faith.

Six video-driven sessions:
Session 1 - Faith: It Starts At Home (38 min.)
Session 2 - Marriage: Your Children Are Watching (27 min.)
Session 3 - Relationships: Your First Priority (31 min.)
Session 4 - Truth: What Are Your Kids Learning? (26 min.)
Session 5 - Communication: Each Child is Unique (26 min.)
Session 6 - Character: Preparing Your Kids For the Real World (26 min.)

This series includes 8 real-life stories, 6 filmed Family Night Activity examples, and 6 original illustrations including:

    •    Trials Build Deeper Trust - Matt Chandler, Lead Pastor of The Village Church near Dallas, and his wife, Lauren, share how the Lord has expanded their faith and caused them to live more intentionally with the discovery of Matt's malignant brain tumor.
    •    Upstairs/Downstairs - This family night activity helps children understand that God did for us what we could not do for ourselves.
    •    Viewmaster - In this moving illustration, a boy's magic viewfinder helps him see pivotal moments in his family's past. This clip will encourage parents to be intentional about raising their children.
